Land Building and Property Maintenance Committee

The Chancery via the Archdiocesan Building Committee recently upgraded its terms of reference related to the administration and management of all land building and facilities owned/occupied by the Church. In this regard, the Legal and Property Department of the Archdiocese has set out revised policies to govern the process for land and building renovation and management. Procedures have now been revised for areas of Parish land management consistent with National legal and regulatory requirements.  Building and renovation works now require specific procedures where, based on the estimated cost of the project approval is required from the Chancery/Archbishop. Further approval is also required from various other Archdiocesan Committees dependent on whether the proposed works fall in four categories; Routine Maintenance, Changes to Liturgical Environment, Renovation of Building Project (Non-Liturgical) and Renovation of Building Project (Liturgical).

As a result, a new Parish Land, Building and Property Maintenance Committee is to be established. The following are the nominees for this Committee:

  1. Fr. Alan Hall
  2. Pearl Belton
  3. Rahim John
  4. Wesley Gokool
  5. Kadesha Francis
  6. Rafvallone Voisin
  7. Randy Fletcher
  8. Thomas Paris
  9. Dennis Noel
  10. Verlyn Francis

Please note that these proposed adjustments to the Parish leadership and management arrangement are not cast in stone. We await confirmation on the acquiescence of the various nominees and recommendations from the Parish in general. It must be noted that these changes were born out of the current Archdiocesan plans in alignment with the Draft Pastoral Plan 2019-2023. Whereas the strategic parish structures as guided by the Chancery are somewhat pliable. It is expected that the Parish as far as practicable, maintain the Archdiocesan arrangements proposed, but more importantly, not waver from the principles of the Church.
